The incident highlights serious flaws in the appointment and verification procedures of the hospital, as well as the question arises as to how an unqualified doctor managed to escape from administrative investigation?
Deepak Tiwari said, “According to the procedure, the hospital had to confirm all paperwork, which was to be investigated by the CMHO, so that the NOC could be issued to allow the doctor to work.”
According to the Mission Hospital management, Yadav was appointed through the recruitment company IWUS (Integrated Workforce Unique Solution) registered with the Madhya Pradesh government.
Pushpa Khare, in -charge of Mission Hospital, told The Quint, “He started work in January this year and went away in February. He took the Echocardiogram machine with him. He did not inform us before leaving. We tried to contact him, but no response was received.”
He said, “It is the responsibility of verification and investigative agency. We paid him 50 percent of the salary of the doctor i.e. about 4 lakh rupees for this service, but he cheated.”
When asked if the agency verified Yadav’s documents, a representative of IWUS denied the hospital allegations, saying, “We had sent the hospital to the bio -data, but they ignored us and hired them directly.”
The representative said, “If he had been hired through us, we would have done necessary investigations and verify their documents.”
However, Khare insisted that Yadav was hired through the agency and was paid for the same. Quint has obtained copies of both the receipt and the challan.
He said, “We have also filed a complaint against the recruitment agency for their negligence.”
When asked if the hospital had conducted any investigation on his behalf, he said, “In the hospital in Narsinghpur, he was asked to submit the documents where he used to work earlier. It was done by the previous management. However, they kept avoiding it. After my assuming my charge in March, I informed the local police that they had gone without telling anyone and occupied the hospital’s property without permission.”
