She wanted to be a big pilot someday. And by the time she was in college, her dream was to be the next Piyush Pandey, an advertising professional. In Shreya’s words:
“Growing up, movies meant going to the theatres with family, dancing to songs with cousins…or dressing up as the scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz, Jassi from Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, Charlie Chaplin for fancy dress competitions. Shreya Chaudhry on bagging the role in Bandish Bandits and receiving Naseerudin Shah’s praising text
Shreya, by then, discovered her true calling as an actress and started contacting several people in the industry. That is when Anand Tiwari offered her to go for the audition of Bandish Bandits. She not only cracked the audition but also it was her breakthrough. Shreya did proper justice to her role, and her top-notch skill brought her immense fame and recognition, along with a plus point, which was Naseerudin Shah’s praise. Recalling her journey, Shreya revealed:
“And in one such event, when I was talking to Anand Tiwari, he said, ‘I’m developing something, you should audition for it.’ So I went in to audition a few weeks later. Thus began my journey as Tamanna from Bandish Bandits. But when the reviews started rolling in, it was unbelievable. I got a text from THE Naseerudin Shah. He said, ‘Beta, aapne bohot badhiya kaam kiya hai.’ That day I knew, kuch toh acha kar rahi thi.”

Shreya also shared that after Bandish Bandits, she started getting back-to-back work and got a chance to work with Boman Irani. The actress shared that that’s the beauty of life that people often don’t know what is meant for them and plan a lot of things, but the moment it feels right, it should be held onto and let it lead the way. In Shreya’s words:
“You know, I may have spent a decade in this industry, but I still often think about that little Shreya, the one who wanted to be so many things. Because while none of those dreams came true, something far greater happened – I found my calling. Not in the path I planned, but in a moment that felt so right, it changed everything. That’s the thing about life – you don’t always start off knowing where you’re headed. Dreams evolve. And if you’re lucky enough to recognize that moment when it comes… you just hold on, & let it lead the way.”
