2025 is proving to be a lucky year for couples; some have tied the knot, while others choose to exchange rings with a promise of togetherness in future. Another name to join this special list belongs to Maharashtra’s deputy CM, Ajit Pawar’s son, Jay Pawar. The young businessman, who has maintained a low profile despite his father’s popularity, got engaged to Rituja Patil in a vibrant yet private ceremony. Some pictures from the event has surfed online, which shows how the Pawar clan is excited about the the upcoming wedding in their family.

Jay Pawar’s aunt and BMP, Supriya Sule, took to her Instagram handle and shared pictures of his engagement ceremony held on April 10, 2025 giving an inside glimpse of the event. In the pictures, Ajit and Rituja Patil ditched the traditional bold colours to wear radiant ethnic outfits. The soon-to-be bride wore a stunning silver-beige sleeveless saree with heavy sequin and embroidery work. It featured intricate detailing with lots of shimmer. She kept her jewellery minimal and classy with statement earrings, a ring and a few bangles. Rituja opted for dewy makeup and kept her hair open in soft waves.
On the other hand, Jay Pawar wore a white embroidery bandh gala-style kurta with white trousers. The engagement was a private event held at Ajit Pawar’s farmhouse in Ghotawade, Pune. In some inside pictures from the event, the couple performed the puja rituals simultaneously. Ajit Pawar’s wife, MP Sunetra Pawar, welcomed her future daughter-in-law into the family by applying turmeric and saffron on her forehead. Since it was a private event, only a few close relatives and some selected party officials were invited to the ceremony.
Before the engagement, Jay and Rituja met the family’s patriarch, and NCP founder, Sharad Pawar, at his residence in Modibagh to seek their blessings. They invited the veteran politician, who came to Pune with his wife, Pratibha Pawar and daughter, Supriya Sule, to the ceremony. His presence was a surprise after his nephew, Ajit Pawar, chose to split NCP and sided with the BJP alliance along with Rebel MPs from the party in 2023. Moreover, they competed in the 2024 polls against each other. Yogendra Pawar, Ajit Pawar’s nephew, who contested the assembly polls from Baramati against his uncle, also attended the event. Supriya, who shared the engagement announcement on social media, penned:
“So happy for our Jay, and a warm welcome to Rutuja! Congratulations to both of you! Stay happy and blessed.”

Ajit Pawar and his wife, Sunetra Pawar, have two sons, Parth Pawar and Jay Pawar. The latter has always had an interest in business and used to work in the corporate world of Dubai. He moved to India some time ago and manages business operations in Mumbai and Baramati. Due to his family’s popular political background, Jay joined the last Lok Sabha and Vidhan Sabha elections in 2024, where he campaigned for his mother, Sunetra Pawar, in Baramati and father, Ajit Pawar. On the other hand, Rituja hails from Phaltan in Satara and is the daughter of Praveen Patil. His father runs a social media company. She is highly educated and comes from a prominent family, where her sister is married to the prominent Patil family of Kesari Travels. Jay Pawar and Rituja Patil have known each other for the last few years and will soon get married.
