Television actress and Sushmita Sen’s former sister-in-law, Charu Asopa, recently made headlines when a video of her selling suits and sarees surfaced online. The clip started speculation on the Internet that the actress might have been facing struggles in her personal life. Later, the actress confirmed the same and opened up about her decision, which was fueled by her financial crunch. Consequently, everyone began to slam Rajeev Sen who in turn called out Charu and doubted her claims of a financial struggle. Now, again, Charu has shared her reaction to the same.
Charu Asopa hits back at Rajeev Sen’s claims
Sushmita Sen’s brother, Rajeev Sen, made some serious allegations about Charu for faking her financial struggle and taking his daughter, Ziana, away from him. Charu took to her Instagram handle and shared a screenshot of Rajeev’s interview. She took a dig at Rajeev along with the post, claiming that he always thinks she does a ‘drama’. Defending her decision, she wrote:
“Wow, that’s beautiful. Whatever I do is always drama for this man.”
Rajeev Sen questioned Charu Asopa’s financial crunch
Everyone was shocked to know about Charu Asopa’s revelation about her financial issues. They called out Rajeev for not helping her and their little daughter, Ziana. In turn, Rajeev sat down for an interview with the Hindustan Times. He mentioned that if the actress didn’t have adequate money to sustain herself in Mumbai, how did she fund her cruise trips and expensive shopping sprees often seen on her social media handles. In his words:
“She could afford a cruise trip with her brother and his wife, which is pretty expensive, and she paid for everyone’s ticket. Where does this financial struggle come into play? Buying property, even with a loan, isn’t cheap. If she’s managing cruises and her regular shopping, as seen in her daily vlogs, it clearly shows she’s not struggling financially.”
He also mentioned that he frequently called her to discuss buying a place in Mumbai where their daughter lives with her parents despite their separation, but she didn’t give a positive repose. He also mentioned that he is different from her because, unlike him, she always makes a public spectacle of their personal life by calling the media. So, his lawyers are watching it, and he worries about his daughter because the actress does not let him meet her. He was quoted as saying:
“The difference between me and Charu is that I don’t call the media daily to cry about a midlife crisis. I won’t show my bank statements or discuss who gave what—money should never be discussed publicly, which she’s turned into content for YouTube. I genuinely feel sorry for her.”

When Charu Asopa opened up about her decision to move to Bikaner and sell clothes
After Charu Asopa’s video of selling suits and sarees went viral, the actress sat down for an interview with the Hindustan Times. She mentioned that her daughter is her priority, and she couldn’t do daily soaps while caring for her. So, living comfortably in Mumbai was impossible, so she went to Rajasthan. She mentioned she would work on businesses from home and would grow her YouTube channel. Moroever, the actress promised she wouldn’t leave acting and soon buy her home in Bikaner. In her words:
“Living in Mumbai is not easy; it costs money. My monthly expenses were around Rs. 1–1.5 lakh, including rent. Also, I didn’t want to leave Ziana with a nanny while I shot in Naigaon. If I get an OTT show, I can always come to Mumbai, shoot, and return home.”
