In a world where dreams often feel too big or distant, sometimes, all it takes is one person’s leap of faith to make you believe in your own potential. For Radhikka Madan, the person who inspired her to pursue her Bollywood dreams was the late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR). Sushant, who started out as a background dancer and later became a sensation in the industry, inspired Radhikka and many others to hold on to their dreams even when the destination seemed far.
Radhikka Madan describes her journey to the silver screen
Recently, in a heartfelt interview with Curly Tales, Radhikka opened up about her journey from television to Bollywood. The Angrezi Medium actress became candid about how she drew inspiration from Sushant Singh Rajput. Seeing his remarkable transition from television’s favourite ‘Manav’ in Pavitra Rishta to becoming the face of films like Kai Po Che! and MS Dhoni gave Radhikka the courage to dream bigger. Talking about who inspired her, Radhikka shared:
“I think Sushant, kyuki uska set mere set ke side mai tha. Aur us time aisa lagta tha ki Sushant chala gaya toh main bhi jaa sakti hoon. I never met him. Naya TV actor gaya tha, waha pe Kai Po Che aayi thi, Dhoni bhi nhi aayi thi. Sushant really inspired me at that time.”
Radhikka Madan’s emotional post for SSR
Sushant Singh Rajput was riding at the peak of his career when he reportedly ended his life. The 34-year-old actor was found hanging at his Bandra residence on June 14, 2020, leaving the entire nation heartbroken. For Radhikka, who herself started as a television artist and later made her Bollywood debut with Vishal Bhardwaj’s Patakha, Sushant was a major inspiration. After his sudden demise, Radhikka penned an emotional note for her idol on her Instagram. It read:
“I remember when I was transitioning from television to movies, people always used to say don’t do it, it’s tough out there, your show was a hit already, so why do you want to start from scratch again? And I remember always giving them Sushant’s example. He made it look possible..achievable. He inspired many actors like me. Gone too soon. RIP.”
