The actress shared that her dad was saying that they would make ‘him’ a fast bowler after thinking that his wife might have given birth to a baby boy. Later, when Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi understood that they actually welcomed a baby girl, they realised that there had not been many opportunities for girls in cricket back then, as they do now, or else they would have made her a blower only. In Soha’s words:
“When I was born, I think my father was screaming in the corridors, ‘We’ll make him a fast bowler.’ But later, when it was discovered that it was a girl, there weren’t many opportunities for girls in cricket, unlike today. Perhaps they would’ve invested in me as a bowler then.”
