Vincy Aloshious is an actress who predominantly worked in Malayalam films. The actress made her acting debut in 2019 with Emcy Joseph’s Vikruthi after being selected through a talent hunt show in 2018, Nayika Nayakan. She was last seen in the role of ‘Meenakshi’ in Marivillin Gopurangal.
Vincy Aloshious opened up about being sexually harassed
The Malayalam industry made headlines in 2024 for its increased drug use. Following the same, actress, Vincy Aloshious decided not to work with actors who used drugs. Her statement sparked a debate online, and now the actress has come forward with an explanation for her decision. Vincy made an appearance, shared a video on her Instagram handle, and revealed the reason behind her stance to not work with drug users. She started the video by stating:
“A few days ago, at an anti-drug campaign programme, I made a statement that I will not do movies again with people I know who use drugs. After this statement, there were several comments. When I read those comments, I felt I should clarify why I made such a statement.”
In the video, Vincy Aloshious revealed that when she was working on a film, one of the lead actors used drugs and behaved inappropriately with her, making it extremely difficult to work with him. She added that there was some issue with her costume, and when she tried to fix it, the man out of nowhere insisted on accompanying her and said, ‘I can help get it ready.’ She recalled that the person made the remark in front of everyone, which made the situation all the more uncomfortable.
In the same video, Vincy further shared how, during a scene rehearsal, the lead actor split something on the table; the white colour of it made it evident that he was using drugs on set. Vincy added that this created a nuisance for everyone around, as it was one thing to use drugs in your personal life but a completely different scenario if it was interfering with one’s professional environment. The actress also acknowledged that she might lose some film opportunities because of her career choices and was quoted as saying:
“During a scene rehearsal, something white spilt from his mouth onto the table. It was very evident that he was using drugs on set, which created a nuisance for everyone around. It’s one thing to use drugs in your personal life, but when it affects your professional environment, it becomes unacceptable. I don’t want to work like that. I don’t want to work with someone who isn’t conscious of the impact their actions have on others. This is a decision based on my personal experience, and I stand by it. Everyone knew about this; the director even spoke with him.”
Vincy Aloshious declared that she won’t work with someone who uses drugs
This comes after Vincy Aloshious’s announcement during the anti-drug campaign. Earlier, the actress had attended the inauguration of the 67th operational year of the KCYM Ernakulam-Angamaly Major Archdiocese, held at Pallippuram Church. During her speech, she declared that she wouldn’t work in any film where she was aware that someone was using drugs. She was quoted as saying”
“If I am aware that someone is using drugs, I will not act in any film with them.”
