The Danish Siddiqui Foundation has announced the launch of the inaugural Danish Siddiqui Journalism Award to honor impressive journalism. The objective of this prestigious annual award is to identify and persuade extraordinary journalists who symbolize the values of courage, integrity, sympathy and truth through their reporting.
Pulitzer winning photo journalists, Danish Siddiqui, were the main photographers and led the Reuters Multimedia team in India. On 16 July 2021, he was tragically killed in a line of duty while reporting from Frontlines in Kandahar, Afghanistan. Danish work is characterized by its powerful imagination and deep sympathy, with an indelible impression on the global media scenario. The award is a tribute to his dedication, courage and commitment to truth.
His images were not just news; They were stories that resonated with people around the world. Danish received his first police station to document the Rohingya refugee crisis in 2018 and another, posthumously, for the work of Kovid -19 epidemic in India in 2021.
