The politician turned heads when he released a statement about incentives being offered to women who give birth to a third child. As per the official statement of Andhra Pradesh’s Information and Public Relations Department, Vizianagaram MP, Kalisetti Appalanaidu has announced that he will pay Rs. 50,000 from his own salary to the woman who will give birth to a third child.
If the third child is a boy, then a cow will be gifted to the mother and her family, and if it’s a girl, then Rs. 50,000 will be paid. The politician made this statement while he was addressing a meeting at the Rajiv Sports compound in his constituency. In his words:
“If a woman gives birth to a third child who is a girl, Rs 50,000 will be paid to her from my salary, and if that child is a boy, a cow will be handed over to her.”
Kalisetti Appalanaidu’s announcement has raised a lot of eyebrows across the country. While some people support his bold move, there are also many who are not impressed with his offer. The politician shared that even if a woman government employees have five or six kids, they will be given maternity leave of around six months. Not only this, but some additional benefits will also be given to those women by the Andhra Pradesh government.
