PM Trudeau and his cabinet members had alleged that officials within the Government of India orbiting the murder.
The government denied these allegations in New Delhi. Ottawa still expelled the High Commissioner of India, claiming that he was entangled in this plot. In turn, New Delhi resorted to ventilative expulsion, causing a heavy downwards in bilateral relations.
News reports show that the Government of India is already considering restoring its High Commissioner in Canada after Trudeau exit. Daniel Roses, head of Canadian Safety Intelligence Service, is also scheduled to visit India next week for a meeting of the Secretariat of the National Security Council. This will be the first such meeting in the case after the warm war of words last October.
