For decades, the name Nipo has been synonymous with credibility. The brand battery has quietly operates millions of Indian homes, making sure that the watches keep the torches shining, and the remote control never comes out of the juice. But today, Indo National Limited (INL) – Company behind Nippo – is no longer a battery manufacturer. It is a company in change, developed into a diverse, innovative powerhouse from a reliable energy brand.
The company’s CEO Pavan Kumar BVS says, “We have a legacy of trust, but we are diverse diversity and changing our business beyond offering our battery.” “Nippo is ready for its next chapter – run by new techniques, stability and bold expansion in new markets.”
This next chapter is not just about selling more batteries. It is about determining what is for the nipo.
Humble from the beginning to the dominance of the market
Established in 1972, Indo National Limited was born by Indian industrialists Shri P. The Matsushita Electric Industrial Company (now Panasonic Corporation) of Obul Reddy and SR Xiavarajka and Japan’s Matsushita Electrical Corporation (now Panasonic Corporation). Target? To start world -class battery technology in India.
Over the years, the nippo became a domestic name, creating a comprehensive distribution network that is now spread over 2.6 million retail shops across India. Today.
A bold diversification strategy
But whenever its battery remained unavoidable, the Nipo recognized the need to develop. With consumer demands and change of new market opportunities, the company has expanded flashlights, mosquito swatters, LED lighting and electrical accessories.
Now, it is taking a single boulder leap: Home Care Market. A mosquito distorted with advanced Japanese technology, launch of swopper, is a new era for the nippo.
The Nipo sees a major opportunity, with India’s mosquito distorted market priced at INR 3,700 crores and growing in 6.87% CAGR. The newly launched swopper Erosol, a smoking mosquito distort, is just the first step in its ambitious plan to make the nippo a domestic name beyond the battery.
Stability mandatory
As the nippo expands, stability remains central for its development strategy. The company was India’s first dry battery manufacturer to obtain the ISO 9001 certification, and all its batteries take the ISI mark, ensuring the highest quality standards.
Now, NIPPO is strengthening its commitment to environmental responsibility by implementing an extended manufacturer responsibility (EPR) program for its products, ready to roll out in the next financial year.
Pawan Kumar insisted, “Stability is no longer an option – this is a responsibility.” “We are committed to reducing our environmental footprints while continuing to provide innovative and durable energy solutions. We are actively entering new product categories and durable technologies to meet the increasing demand for environmentally friendly, energy-efficient solutions.”
Big plans, big goals
Number one tells a compelling story. In FY 2023-24, Nipo recorded a revenue of INR 450 crores, and it is on track to cross the INR 500 crore this year. But the company is thinking even more.
Pawan Kumar says, “Our goal is to double our revenue in the next 4-5 years.” “We are focusing on high-development areas such as clean technology, modern energy storage, stability solutions and even defense and aerospace.”
One of its biggest innovations in the battery space is Nipo Thor, an alkaline battery designed for high -power devices such as medical equipment and gaming console. In less than a year after launch, Nipo Thor has captured 2.15% market share, and the company aims to generate 10% of its total revenue from alkaline battery within 18 months.
Change of leadership
Running this ambitious change is a new leadership team that has joined the nipp in the last one year.
Pavan Kumar, who took over as CEO after serving as the Chief Operating Officer, played an important role in shaping the company’s vision again. Under his leadership, the nippo has focused a sharp focus on capacity development, trade change and shareholder value construction.
“The market is developing rapidly, and so we are,” they say. “We are bringing in the right talent, investing in the right areas, and are sure that the nippo is ahead of the curve.”
Further Road: More than only batteries
As the nippo sees the future, it is clear that the company is no longer about keeping light – it is about bringing the front path to light. With bold diversification, a commitment to stability, and a tireless focus on innovation, the nippo is in position as a brand prepared for the future.
Pawan Kumar said, “We are no longer a battery company.” “We are an energy solutions company. A home care brand. A tech-powered innovator. Nipp is about the future change, and we’re just starting.”
With deep roots in faith and a vision for the future, the nipo is not only developing – it is leading the charge.
