Greenwood’s Instagram announcement was met with shock by her followers.
“Oh no Lyndie that’s terrible news,” one wrote.
“Omg sending you all the love and healing energy I can. I’m so sorry you’re going through this,” said another.
In her Substack Greenwood revealed she’d been given a diagnosis of invasive ductal carcinoma, a type of breast cancer that forms in the milk ducts and spreads.
She said she was in Vancouver preparing for an “indie road trip movie” when she was given the news.
Greenwood was able to finish the movie, calling it “one of the most intense and rewarding experiences of my life as a creative person”.

The timing “worked out perfectly” the actress said, explaining she was then able to “make an appointment with my new oncologist and cancer surgeon”.
Greenwood said her cancer treatment ended in February and left her with a “bald head and many scars, some of them visible”.
Her treatments included a double mastectomy and reconstruction surgery.
‘My prognosis is very good,’ she said.
