If you recall, Miami discussed the pressures women face to maintain their appearance, using Lizzo as an example. She pointed out that the “Good As Hell” singer was criticized for her body but also faced backlash after her noticeable weight loss.
“Everybody was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so fat.’ She look so good now. Now it’s like, ‘Oh my God, eww,’” Miami told host Shannon Sharpe, urging critics to “pick a side.”
Lizzo caught wind of the remarks and called Miami during her live to ask what she had meant.
“What is the ‘eww?’ I have to know,” Lizzo asked, later adding, “Actually, I thought you were saying I got too little.”
Miami pushed back, denying any intent to shade Lizzo.
“No, no, no. So what I’m saying is, like, people always have something to say… It’s ‘damned if you do, damned if you don’t’—that’s kinda what I was tryna say,” Miami explained, adding that some people felt Lizzo looked better at a larger size.
Throughout 2024, Lizzo documented her wellness journey on social media, revealing that she had lost 16% of her body fat. She denied using drugs such as ozempic or undergoing surgery to achieve her results.
