Cyren Rijjji -Waqf Amendment to Raja Sabhi after passing in Lok -saba
On Thursday, the Union of Parliamentary Affairs Cyren Rygius postponed a petition for considering the WAQF (amendments) and the Musalmaan Wakf (cancellation) bill to Raja Sabha. Speaking to the upper house of the parliament, Riga cited the Sahara Committee, which recommended to expand the WAQF Central Council and the State Council WAQF to make them inclusive. He reported the number of WAQF properties, saying the Sahara Committee had calculated a profit of 4.9 real estate varnishes in Rs 12,000 in 2006.
“To date, there are 8.72 varnish -waqf. (Benefit) women and children,” Riga said.
The minister addressed the recommendations of the previous joint parliamentary committee (JPC), headed by the head of the senior congress K. Rakhman Khan, who noted several questions with the WAQF Council, which requires correction, including the improvement of the council’s infrastructure.
“The joint parliamentary committee led by K. Rahman Khan, who served as minority minister, raised the issue of infrastructure (WAQF), showing that less labor and funds. He said that the whole case is focused on the purpose or removal of mutovali,” he added.
Addressing Congress and allies, to support the WAQF correction bill, Riggy said all the recommendations presented by previous commissions were included in the recently modified bill.
“All these recommendations previously given were registered with the recently submitted bill. These committees were within the UPA and Congress. So, I appeal to Congress and its allies to support the WAQF 2025 correction bill,” he said.
Rijiju said the minority ministry has prepared a bill after confidence in many stakeholders across the country. He said that a total of 284 organizations expressed their opinion on the bill, and more than one person who presented the memorandums registered his opinion on the same.
