Jagdish Singh, a resident of Siraspur village in North West Delhi, told me, “This is probably the only village in Delhi, which does not even have a bus service.” A daily wage laborer, Suresh Prasad, in which residents are forced to travel to Samayapur Badli to catch bus, metro or train.
Samayapur Badli is about 3.8 km on the yellow line of Delhi Metro, and the nearest local train station, Khera Kalan Railway Station, Siraspur is 3.4 km from DDA flats.
It is not that a metro station was not promised. Back in 2014, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Dr. Udit Raj, even the then members of Parliament for ‘opening’.
In fact, Siraspur has been marked as a station on some Delhi Metro yellow line coaches. But after almost a decade, this promise remains incomplete.
