Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, Tahira Kashyap recently shared with her fans that her breast cancer relapsed for the second time after seven years. It was in 2018 when the filmmaker was first diagnosed with the same, and in 2020, after undergoing multiple chemotherapies, she became cancer-free. Amid, her battle with breast cancer for the second time, Tahira took to her Instagram handle to share her first picture after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time.

Tahira has been undergoing a new round of chemotherapies and treatments as her breast cancer relapsed. Amid all of this, Tahira took to her Instagram handle a while back to share a sweet selfie where she was seen wearing black specks and holding a sunflower. In her Instagram post, Tahira wrote a long note expressing gratitude to her followers and fans. She shared in her sweet note that she has come back home and her road to recovery has already started. Tahira’s note read:
“Basking in all the love and prayers! They are magical. Thank you, thank you, thank you! Back home and recovering. I know some of you who are praying and so many whom I don’t know and yet I receive all your goodness with grace, similarly some of you know me and others might not but I send all my gratitude to all of you. And when such a connection is made which is beyond actual relationship it’s called Humanity which is the highest form of spirituality.”
Hina Khan, who has also been fighting stage 3 breast cancer, commented on Tahira’s post with a heart emoji. Tahira’s brother-in-law, Aparshakti Khurana, also dropped a heart emoji, while Mahima Chaudhary, who also battled breast cancer, commented, “Sending big hug Love love love.”

Tahira, earlier in an interview with ANI shared the importance of making timely cancer treatment accessible to many, regardless of their financial background. Cancer is a journey that tests your strength, resilience, and faith. Early diagnosis and affordable treatment are, however, key to survival. She credited Ayushman Bharat and PMJAY initiatives for making millions hope for a better future.
Awareness about early breast cancer detection is important so that it can be beaten. It was in 2018 when Tahira was first diagnosed with zero breast cancer. For the unversed, this is the earliest stage of breast cancer where the abnormal cancer cells stay intact in the breast duct, and lubes and do not spread to the nearby tissues.

It was on April 7, 2025, when Tahira shared an Instagram note where she spoke about her breast cancer relapsing. She shared that she was unsure if her cancer came back because of the seven-year itch or due to regular screening. Tahira, through her post, also requested her fans to go for their regular screenings and that she was all set to battle round 2 of cancer.
