Saif Ali Khan is among the finest actors in Bollywood and is admired for his charismatic personality and royal lineage. Known for his films like Race, Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal, Kal Ho Naa Ho and more, he has made a special place in the hearts of fans who were shocked when a report about an attack on him made headlines on January 16, 2025. Many fake and manipulated news stories about the incident went viral, but the couple remained quiet about what happened that night. Now, some inside details from the case have been revealed in its chargesheet documenting how events unfolded during that fateful night.

The big chargesheet filed in Saif Ali Khan includes several statements filed by witnesses, including Saif himself and his wife, Kareena. As per the Free Press Journal, 48 witness statements were considered. In her statement, Bebo revealed that she had gone to her friend, Rhea Kapoor’s home that night and returned at 1:20 am. After checking her sons, she went to her room to catch some sleep when her younger son, Jeh’s nanny, rushed and said that an intruder with a knife had entered the room and was asking for money.
The couple rushed there and saw someone standing near their son’s bed. Consequently, Saif began to tackle him when Kareena asked the nanny to take Jeh out, and they went to the 12th floor, where the actor came covered in blood to look for something to counter the intruder. Kareena mentioned she asked him to leave things and rush to the hospital with her. She said:
“Yeh sab chhod do, neeche chalo, hospital jaate hain”
Taimur and not Ibrahim took Saif Ali Khan to the hospital
After the incident, Saif Ali Khan went to the hospital and underwent immediate surgeries to recover from the attack and was discharged after a few days. A media report from IANS claimed that Saif’s elder son, Ibrahim, 23, took him to Lilavati Hospital when the car was unavailable. But, the chargesheet confirmed that his son, Taimur and not Ibrahim, insisted on going with him and their staff member, Hari. Recalling what happened that night, Saif said:
“That evening, I had dinner with my sons around 7.30 pm. At 10 pm, I went to my bedroom. My wife arrived home around 1.30 am. Around 2 am, while we were sleeping, Jeh’s nanny came to our door shouting that a man with a knife had entered Jeh’s room.”

Mumbai police included 29 blood samples from the crime scene along with 20 fingerprints that revealed that the accused, Shariful climbed up using a pipe, and his fingerprints were found on the 8th floor on a wooden door. He tried to open every door before he reached Saif’s home for robbery.
In addition, Shariful Islam was allegedly seen in the CCTV recordings of Bharati Villa and Next Avenue, beside Saif’s Satguru Sharan building. Hours before the incident, he was seen there between 5 pm and 6.45 pm to allegedly do a recce. Also, he was waiting there for an hour after the alleged assault, at 3.37 am. From there, he went to Bandra West and Dadar.
Shariful Islam filed a bail plea a few days ago that was opposed by the cops. It will be important to say how the chargesheet will decide the fate of the case.
